Building Bridges, Supporting Families, Completing the Circle of Care

Your support unites home and school—nurturing the promise in every child.
FamilyBridge supports learning at home.

While you support caring, one-on-one tutoring, you are also building bridges that inform and engage families so they can better support their child’s education.

When families, schools, and the community come together, children thrive. That’s why FamilyBridge is at the heart of Children Rising’s Circle of Care. This nurturing network begins with the family, extends through the school, and is strengthened by our three programs: FamilyBridge, Path2Math, and Succeeding by Reading.

FamilyBridge helps complete and enrich this Circle of Care by connecting parents, caregivers, tutors, and teachers with the tools and communication they need to support the children’s learning journey.

Will you complete HER Circle of Care?

Through one-on-one reading and math tutoring, and family support, you will nurture an eager child in a circle of care so they may succeed in school.

For many families, especially those facing language, cultural, and economic barriers, this connection has been transformative. With culturally responsive resources, one-on-one coaching, and real-time communication tools, parents are reclaiming their vital role as their child’s first teacher. This happens right where learning begins: at home.

This year, more than 75 families have reaffirmed and strengthened their place in the Circle of Care, becoming confident, caring partners in their children’s success.

In this issue, we’re sharing two inspiring stories—Marjan* and Davion*—whose families are now flourishing within this growing Circle of Care. Their journeys remind us that when families are included and engaged, a child’s confidence and success soar.

Marjan: Bridging Language, Strengthening Learning, Restoring a Parent’s Role
You helped a child shine—and helped her family break through language barriers to be part of her success.

You helped a child shine—and helped her family break through language barriers to be part of her success.

When Marjan began second grade, she faced more than just academic challenges. Her parents, recent immigrants from Afghanistan, desperately wanted to support her learning, but language barriers left them feeling isolated.

Can you imagine wanting desperately to support your child but feeling helpless to communicate with their teachers or understand their daily successes and struggles?

When Marjan’s family received messages from FamilyBridge, translated into their native language, a door opened. They finally had the support, tools, and confidence to see her succeed and to celebrate every achievement alongside her.

After working on math at home with her dad, Marjan raced into class the next morning, beaming with pride. “My mom and dad saw me doing math!” From then on, every new message became a precious connection, drawing her parents deeper into her educational journey.

Her parents now feel deeply included, knowing they play an essential part in Marjan’s brightening future. The Circle of Care around Marjan was strengthened, and her possibilities are boundless.

Your support ensures that as the school year begins, families are engaged, classrooms are stronger—and futures are brighter.

Because of You, A Mother Found Her Voice, and Davion Found His Confidence
You didn’t just support Davion—you helped give his mother the support and confidence to step into the journey beside him.

You didn’t just support Davion—you helped give his mother the support and confidence to step into the journey beside him.

Tashaye had always wanted to be more involved in her son Davion’s education. But like so many parents, especially those our tutors support, she didn’t know where to start—or how to make a difference.

Then she received a simple text message: a photo of Davion, smiling proudly, and a note that he was making real progress in reading. When she showed it to him, he lit up. “Something clicked for him in that moment,” she said. “Now he has something to prove.

Through FamilyBridge, Tashaye became a true learning partner. With regular updates, she began requesting math flashcards and reading assignments to support him at home.

“I appreciate the progress updates because I feel more involved in his education. I know what he’s learning and the areas where he needs more practice,” she shared.

A little bit of extra work at home and guidance from his mother made a significant difference!

Davion has since advanced two grade levels in reading and math.

When a child begins to believe they can learn—and a parent feels empowered to help them—everything changes. That transformation takes time, trust, and a community that cares deeply.

So while you support caring, one-on-one tutoring, you are also building bridges that inform and engage families so they can better support their child’s education.

Your gift—matched when you give today—strengthens the Circle of Care that helps every child thrive!
