Tutor a Child (Reading or Math)

Program: Path2Math and Succeeding by Reading

Time commitment: 2 hours once a week, Monday-Friday during school hours

Be the steady support a child looks forward to each week

Two hours of one-on-one tutoring each week can help determined second-grade students strengthen reading or math skills, grow in confidence, and rise to their potential. We provide training, support, guidance, and all the tools you’ll need to succeed each week. We’ll pair you with a student and offer multiple school locations and time slots to accommodate your schedule. Our step-by-step approach makes it simple to support a child’s learning — and you may find the time you spend with eager students and fellow volunteers becomes the highlight of your week.

Family Engagement Coordinators

Program: FamilyBridge

Time commitment: About 2 hours per week

Do you believe families are essential partners in a child’s academic success? Join us as a Family Engagement Coordinator and help bridge learning between school, tutoring clinics, and home.

In this meaningful volunteer role, you’ll support 2nd and 3rd-grade students as they work to strengthen their reading and math skills. By partnering with parents, tutors, and teachers, you’ll help ensure families feel informed, encouraged, and equipped to support learning at home.

Parent Outreach Liaisons

Program: FamilyBridge

Time commitment: Approximately 2-4 hours per week

When families feel informed and welcomed, parents become active partners in learning, and children are more likely to show up, stay engaged, and thrive. Help us strengthen communication with families and ensure every child receives the support they need.

Parent Outreach Liaisons provide an important connection between our program and families by reaching out to parents who may need additional follow-up beyond text communication.

Digital Newsletter Content Creators

Program: FamilyBridge

Time commitment: Approximately 2-4 hours per week

Consistent, uplifting communication builds momentum and helps turn a program into a community. Join us in telling our story and strengthening communication across our community.

The Digital Newsletter Content Creator supports both internal and external communications by helping develop, design, and distribute engaging newsletter content that highlights program updates, impact stories, and important program information.

Family Learning Series Co-Producers

Program: FamilyBridge

Time commitment: Approximately 2 hours per week

Families thrive when they’re welcomed, equipped, and reminded they’re not alone in supporting their child’s learning. Help us create engaging, impactful learning experiences for parents and caregivers.

The Family Learning Series Co-Producer supports the FamilyBridge team in planning and hosting high-quality, interactive Zoom coaching sessions. These monthly sessions are designed to deliver practical tips, encouragement, and meaningful connection — all within a short, accessible format for busy families.

In-Home Learning Resource Coordinators (Content Lead)

Program: FamilyBridge

Time commitment: Approximately 2 hours per week

Learning sticks when families have the right tools at home—simple, clear resources that match what children are working on in school and tutoring. Help ensure families have the tools they need to support learning at home.

The In-Home Learning Resource Coordinator supports the development and distribution of high-quality learning materials aligned with classroom instruction and intervention programs. This role helps bridge school, tutoring, and home learning by ensuring resources are organized, accessible, and engaging for families.

One-Time Service Projects

Project-Based Volunteering, When It Fits Your Schedule

Time commitment: Varies depending on the project.

We have many service projects that support the work we do for the children. If weekly tutoring is not right for you, you can still assist the children and families we serve by providing a couple of hours of your time when convenient to do so. Let us know if you are interested in learning more, and we will notify you as projects become available.
