Join us as a Family Engagement Coordinator and help bridge learning between school, tutoring clinics, and home.

In this meaningful volunteer role, you'll support second- and third-grade students as they work to strengthen their reading and math skills. By partnering with parents, tutors, and teachers, you'll ensure families feel informed, encouraged, and equipped to support learning at home.

Success looks like

Families receiving consistent biweekly updates and using simple at-home resources to reinforce what students are learning in tutoring and class.

What You'll Do

  • Share progress updates and "good news" moments with parents and caregivers every two weeks
  • Provide simple at-home learning resources and encouragement
  • Attend tutoring clinics as needed to build relationships and understand student progress
  • Communicate with teachers to align classroom learning and tutoring support
  • Use provided templates and staff support to keep communication consistent and timely

Who You Are

A strong communicator who builds trust easily
Passionate about elementary reading and math
Organized, collaborative, and comfortable with digital tools
Experienced in education or child development (preferred but not required)
Spanish or Arabic fluency is preferred but not required; we use translation tools

Requirements

  • Live Scan background clearance
  • Negative TB status
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow Children Rising's privacy guidelines
